Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon Hosts High School Student Video Contest about Voting Rights

The Monmouth County Clerk’s Office has launched an Elections and Voting Video Contest for high school students in an effort to encourage them to be engaged in the election process and to learn the importance of voting rights. “As you know, voting is a fundamental right and young people should have a voice in our elections,” said Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon. “In commemoration of this year marking the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment and the 150th Anniversary of the 15th Amendment, students are encouraged to create a one to three minute video that reflects on what having the right to vote means to them, while encouraging their peers to vote,” said Clerk Hanlon. Entrants can work in groups of one to three. The top three winning videos will be awarded gift card prizes and will be showcased via the County Clerk’s social media platforms and “Your Vote Matters” program. Students may submit their videos by uploading to YouTube and emailing the direct video link and their group’s contact information to ClerkContest@co.monmouth.nj.us. The contest ends at noon on Friday, October 30, 2020. For more detailed information, visit MonmouthCountyClerk.com.
