Answers to Your Questions about the 2020 General Election In anticipation of questions voters may have surrounding the new, state mandated 2020 General Election process, Clerk Hanlon has created a Frequently Asked Questions page which can be found on our elections website, MonmouthCountyVotes.com. This FAQ page addresses all of the new rules about the General Election. By creating this page, Clerk Hanlon hopes to alleviate any angst voters may have due to the changes in the 2020 General Election procedures. Click here for the FAQ’s. As a reminder, Governor Phil Murphy signed a state mandate P.L. 2020, c. 72 which requires that the New Jersey 2020 General Election be conducted primarily via Vote by Mail, with limited in person polling locations open on General Election Day for voting on paper provisional ballots only and for voters to drop off their mail-in ballots. Only disabled voters or those who need an accessible voting device to vote may vote through an accessible voting device at their polling locations. “I encourage all voters in the coming weeks to check our elections website at MonmouthCountyVotes.com; we will continue to provide updates as we receive more guidance from the State Division of Elections about the election process,” said Clerk Hanlon. “I also encourage everyone to follow the official Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages of the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office and utilize our platforms as a reliable source for accurate and useful information as we move towards the 2020 General Election.” In addition to the Frequently Asked Questions page, voters with questions can contact the County Clerk’s Election Office by phone at 732-431-7790 or by email at ClerkofElections@co.monmouth.nj.us.
