The Historical Society of Highlands are a group of dedicated people who seek to preserve, promote and share interest in the rich History of a small water front town of Highlands, New Jersey.

The Society aims to serve the community by collecting artifacts, memorabilia and memories through publications, archive maintenance and participation in and support community historic and general activities.

The Society welcomes members and the public to attend monthly meetings held at:

Robert Wilson Community Center,
22 Snug Harbor Avenue,
Highlands, New Jersey

Meetings are held every 4th Thursday of the month from March thru October, and the 3rd Thursday in November and December at 7:30 PM.

Membership year runs from July 1 thru June 30th.

The Society supports its operations through dues, gifts, donations, fundraisers and on going sales of publications and other items during the Seaport Craft Show, Clam Fest and October Fest and through out the year.

Nina Light Flannery Memorial Scholarship

The Historical Society of Highlands (HSH) announces the first Nina Light Flannery Memorial Scholarship, given to a deserving senior from Henry Hudson Regional High School. The HSH has renamed the scholarship in Nina’s honor. Donations to the scholarship fund are gratefully accepted by either mail: Nina Flannery Scholarship, Historical Society of Highlands, P.O. Nina served Highlands as Borough Clerk and Administrator for many years before retiring in 2009. She was a Highlands Garden Club member, served on the Highlands Board of Education, was a member of the Highlands Lions Club, and filled the positions of vice-president and civic liaison with the HSH.
