Changes: The Excessive Heat Watch was expanded to include Warren and Morris County in New Jersey, all of Delaware, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The watch was also extended to now include Wednesday. The Excessive Heat Watch for Monday was replaced by a Heat Advisory. The Heat Advisory is in place for Sunday and Monday.
Hazardous Weather: Excessive Heat and Humidity. Heat index around 100° are expected tomorrow and Monday with heat index values of 105°-110° anticipated Tuesday and Wednesday.
Locations affected: New Jersey, Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania, and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Timing: Sunday through Wednesday with Tuesday and Wednesday likely being the most oppressive days with Heat Index values near 110°.
Impacts: Very dangerous conditions especially for the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing conditions, especially if they live near urban centers without air conditioning. Extended time outdoor without water or shade breaks could result in heat related illnesses.
