Event Summary AM Briefing: 3.13.23

Take the proper precautions during this weather event.

✔ Light snow this morning for the southern Poconos and far NW NJ will change to rain for
all but the highest elevations this afternoon and evening. Rain then changes back to snow
tonight and continues through Tuesday.
✔ Heaviest snow for the I-80 corridor (Carbon, Monroe, Sussex (NJ) counties)
occurs tonight through at least Tuesday morning, with hourly snowfall rates
around 1 inch.
✔ A heavier band of snow will pivot southward towards the I-78 corridor in NJ late
tonight and Tuesday.
✔ Elsewhere, rain becomes steady today and tonight. Rain changes to snow by Tuesday
morning and some snow showers are possible down to the Philadelphia metro and parts
of southern NJ.
✔ Strongest winds Tuesday into Wednesday with 35 to 45 mph gusts.
✔ Gale force wind gusts 35-45 knots on NJ/DE Atlantic coastal waters and DE Bay
Tuesday and Wednesday.
✔ Spotty minor coastal flooding is possible along the NJ/DE coasts and into DE Bay tonight
into Tuesday morning.
