We continue to monitor the increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. A few storms could become severe with the primary threats being damaging winds and large hail. The Storm Prediction Center has our forecast area in a SLIGHT risk for severe weather meaning scattered severe storms will be possible.
Hazardous Weather: Severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds and large hail. A brief/weak tornado cannot be ruled out as well.
Locations affected: Slight risk exists for entire forecast area (eastern PA, NJ, DE, and eastern MD), save for far southern DE
Timing: Mainly between 2 PM and 8 PM today.
Impacts: Damaging winds could lead to downed trees and wires leading to a few power outages.
Confidence on occurrence: Moderate confidence regarding the occurrence of thunderstorms but lower confidence on the exact timing of any severe weather.
