Ready Go Bags and Register Ready

The Monmouth County Division of Aging, Disabilities & Veteran Services, in partnership with the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management,

will be distributing “Ready Go Bags” to vulnerable residents that may have difficulty leaving their home in the event of a disaster.  This event will take place at the Highlands Firehouse on Wednesday August 4th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The first step to take to receive a “Ready Go Bag” is to enroll in “Register Ready”.

Register Ready was created to help identify people to emergency personnel that may have trouble leaving their home during an emergency or evacuation.  Any resident that has special needs that may require assistance during an evacuation should consider enrolling in Register Ready and receive a “Ready Go Bag”.  The Ready Go Bag contains information about how to prepare for a disaster and give away items to help residents navigate during an evacuation.

Once enrolled in Register Ready, the resident will receive a “Ready Go Bag” to use when evacuating their residence.

The resident must be one of the following:

  • A senior 60 years or older that needs assistance in leaving their home if they have to evacuate.
  • A person with a disability of any age that requires assistance in leaving their home.
  • An adult caregiver of a senior or person with a disability that needs assistance in leaving their home if they have to evacuate.
  • A caregiver can receive a Ready Go Bag in place of the person they care for.

We encourage all residents that fit the criteria above to visit the Highlands Firehouse on August 4th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
