Update on School Regionalization

Find out the latest information!

The Borough of Highlands is extremely pleased to announce that on Friday, July 15, the petition was submitted to the New Jersey Department of Education seeking permission to place school regionalization on the November ballot as a referendum question.  This petition had been constructed in collaboration with the Boroughs of Sea Bright and Atlantic Highlands as well as all three boards of education within the Tri-District (Highlands, Atlantic Highlands, and Henry Hudson Regional), and is an effort to put this important question in the hands of the voters of all three towns this year.  While there are still additional information sessions planned, including a presentation of the final proposed funding formula, the Borough would like to continue to provide as much information as quickly as possible for residents to stay up to date with these important developments.  To read the letter to Acting Commissioner Allen-McMillan and the actual petition, click here.
