Verizon Wireless Outage and 9-1-1 calls

It has been reported that Verizon devices are not working on the east coast.

Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office has posted messaging on social media advising that text to 9-1-1 calls is working.

For emergency calls with Verizon cell phones the #MCSONJ asks to please send a Text to 9-1-1 if you cannot call directly.

1. Open the message app on your phone or wireless device.
2. In “To” type “911” (there is no need to add “-“)
3. In the message field type the location, (address and municipality) and a brief description of the problem.
