Weather Alert – Wind Gusts – 11.30.22

Very windy conditions as well as a period of rain.

  1.  Wednesday morning through mid-day, southerly winds gusting up to 35 mph for most places are likely. At the coast, however, wind gusts of 45 mph are expected. A wind advisory is in effect for the New Jersey coast. For coastal Delaware, winds appear to be slightly lower, with gusts to 40 mph. On the coastal waters, gusts around 40 kt will be possible.
  2. An abrupt shift to westerly and northwesterly winds is expected in the afternoon or early evening. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are possible across the region, but locally, higher gusts are possible if stronger showers exist.
  3. A period of rain is expected, with rain amounts generally expected to range from 0.25 to 1 inch, but locally higher amounts are possible if any stronger showers develop. The risk of flooding is low at this time.
