WEATHER UPDATE: Multi-Hazard Storm beginning April 3

Strong Winds: High Wind Warning in effect for Monmouth County for wind gusts 55- 60 mph. Wind Advisory in effect for Middlesex and Ocean Counties for gusts up to 50 mph. Throughout the rest of the New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, wind gusts will peak in the 30-45 mph range.

Flooding: Flood Watch in effect for areas near and northwest of I-95 from today through Thursday. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 expected with locally higher amounts possible, bringing the potential for urban and poor drainage flooding. Minor river flooding is forecast for some rivers forecast points. Moderate river flooding is possible.

Coastal Flooding: Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories in effect. Minor to moderate coastal flooding along Atlantic coastal NJ and DE, and DE Bay impacting the high tides tonight through Thursday morning. Greatest threat for moderate coastal flooding in the warning area north of Atlantic City.

Severe Thunderstorms: A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible, mainly across Delmarva and extreme southern New Jersey this afternoon and early evening. Potential for large hail, damaging winds, and a couple tornadoes.

Marine: Gale and Storm Warning in effect for NJ Atlantic coastal waters north of Atlantic City through this evening. Sustained gale force winds are expected in this area with storm force gusts up to 55 kts near and north of Manasquan.

Dangerous seas will build to 8 to 14 feet during this period.
